Could green building renovation have some negative side effects?

In a recent report issued by the Committee on the Effect of Climate Change on Indoor Air Quality and Public Health, The Institute of Medicine issued a warning that suggests our efforts to counter climate change mave have led to some unanticipated consequences. It seems that new untested materials are sometimes used in “green” renovations. The report concludes that using these materials could limit, or at least alter the air flow inside buildings in a way that may concentrate pollutants chemical emissions indoors.
